Mission & priority

We want to make Optimism governance a first-class experience for everyone in the community. Surface new voices to the platform and reward those who are amazing contributors.

Our priorities:

• Help surface great delegates (whether they be small ones or new voices)

• [Feature] Vote history is sorted by weight rather than time.
  • Additional food for thought: However, if you’re a small voter, you’ll never see yours. So it’d be nice to see your own vote be at the top of the list.
• [Feature] Better UX to display my token balance vs. voting power vs. voting power at time of the snapshot.
• [Feature] After delegating, have visibility into who you’ve delegated your tokens to.
• [Improvement] Allow delegation with 0 tokens.
• [Improvement] Better UX around delegate statements and descriptions (auto save on writing and some of the design makes it bad on mobile and Windows)
• [Feature] Better search capabilities (e.g. partial search)
  • Note: currently partial search results in blank as it only accepts exact search parameters.
  • This is a bigger build, as most sites out there don’t have good fuzzy search in web3 (let me know if you see any, I could be very well wrong here!)
• [Feature] Better filters to surface smaller delegates: (inspo from Oxytocin, FractalVisions)
  • Most proposals voted
  • Voting streaks
  • Last 6mo voting participation
  • Filter parameters perhaps? (e.g. “Show me delegates who are lower than X voting power but also very active in participation)
  • Discourse participation? (see feature requests below)
  • Delegate’s activity age (only allow delegates that have voted for either more or less than x months)
  • Filter to show the delegates with less than .5% voting power (source of inspo)
  • Recommended Delegates “Badge”? (Maybe selected by Citizen badgeholders?)

• [Feature] Pull in activity from Discourse (source of inspiration)
  • 💡 Or maybe if activity is too noisy, we can pull in badges or some indication of activity and presence on OP governance
  • Maybe somehow pull in Delegation threads that are quite fantastic on the Discourse (ex1)
• [Feature] Link to Discourse profile, so that people can see delegate’s opinions and activities via Discourse
• [Feature] Hiding delegation from results of delegate page and get some kind of reward for this (source of inspiration)
